Parkland Acquisition Resolution Passes at Civic Federation!

Update April 2016:

Support the Civic Federation’s Parks Resolution. Write to the County Board to support more parkland in the County.

In February, the Arlington County Civic Federation overwhelming approved a resolution that the County Board adopted a Park Land Acquisition goal of obtaining, on average, 3 acres of park land over the next ten years using a variety of tools at their disposal besides park land acquisition bonds.  Stef Pryor, Civic Federation President, made a public presentation to the Board concerning the Civic Federation Parks Resolution at the February County Board meeting.

Citizens are urged to write to the County Board indicating their support for the goal because additional park land is needed to meet the needs of projected population increases, not to mention satisfy today’s citizen demands.

The Arlington County Civic Federation (ACCF) passed a Parks & Recreation Committee resolution calling on the County Board to adopt a land acquisition policy with a target to obtain a minimum of 3 acres of park land per year on average over the next 10 years by a vote of 63 for, 1 against, and 1 abstention on February 2, 2016.

Write to the County Board to say you support the resolution:
