Environmental County Board Candidates Forum on October 7

Please join us at the Environmental County Board Candidates Forum on October 7.

This will be Arlington’s FIRST ever candidates forum on environmental issues! RSVP on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/events/115510125470354/candidates forum flyer_Oct. 7

The event will focus on candidates’ positions on topics such as:
•Providing parks, recreation services, natural amenities and tree canopy in a growing Arlington
•Protecting environmental services through trees and natural resource solutions
•Managing stormwater and watershed protection
•Air and water quality

Arlington has lost approximately 80 percent of its mature tree canopy since 1980 and our parkland per resident has been steadily declining. At 7.9 acres of parkland per 1,000 residents, we rank behind the cities of Washington D.C., Honolulu, Oakland, Minneapolis, Seattle and Los Angeles. It is a vital time to learn about our candidates’ views on planning for parks and a green Arlington.
